[by Sora Ghim] There is not a second to lose in SBS drama ‘Pinocchio.’ In just one episode, Park Shin Hye found out Lee Jong Suk’s secret, Lee Jong Suk revealed his identity to his murderer brother Yoon Kyun Sang, and Park Shin Hye went face to face with her mother Jin Kyung. It seems as if the drama is coming to an end, but this is only the beginning. A refreshing change with its fast-moving plot, ‘Pinocchio’ hits the halfway mark as it starts its second part next week.
Placing first in viewer percentage for the previous episode on December 10, ‘Pinocchio’ reached a high of 12.3% in the capital and 10.7% nationally for last night’s episode ten. This means that the drama placed first in its time slot for the second episode in a row.
In episode ten of the drama, it ends on a high with Choi In Ha (Park Shin Hye) firing back at her mother Song Cha Ok (Jin Kyung) while Choi Dal Po (Lee Jong Suk) reveals himself to his brother Ki Jae Myung (Yoon Kyun Sang) to prevent him from hurting In Ha. Ending as Dal Po exposes himself as Ha Myung, viewers anticipate the next episode and what will happen between the two brothers.
A national hero, Ki Jae Myung made MSC the top news station and Song Cha Ok held a seminar regarding the ‘Secret Behind MSC News’ Viewer Percentages.’ At the end of the session, she asks for questions, targeting Dal Po saying it is hard to target and question a reporter if you know what a reporter is. As Dal Po holds back, In Ha instead fires back at her mother, repeating what Dal Po said to her back at the YGN interview debate. She uses the story of Dal Po’s family to bring down Cha Ok.
In Ha exposes her mother’s mistake from 13 years ago in front of all the other reporters in the room. However, Ki Jae Myung who attended the seminar, got suspicious of In Ha for knowing so much of his family’s situation that he corners her after to question her. Dal Po, finding out that his brother was there, rushes to protect In Ha from any harm that may come upon her. He tackles Jae Myung and tells him he’s actually Ha Myung as tears run down his face.
With the sudden rush of events and action-filled scene, this drama captivated audiences with its dialogue and happenings. As the viewers go through emotions with the characters and secret after secret is exposed, the drama keeps the fans curious after each episode. This is what creates a high-quality drama.
